1: Arrive in Lima Peru
Transfer to the hotel, meet
the group,welcome dinner
Day
2: Paracas
Early in the morning (7:30
AM) our bus will drive you south of Lima on the Panamericana highway- to
Paracas (3 hrs.) We take a short break in the Atacama desert. After
lunch we go to visit the Paracas peninsula, (4 hrs) one of the most important
marine reserves in the world with the highest concentration of marine birds
and sea mammals. We also visit La Catedral, an impressive coastal rock
formation. Over night hotel.
Day
3: Ballestas-Nazca Lines
On this morning we will
take a motorboat excursion to Ballestas Island. This Island is the home
of thousands of exotic sea birds, Cormorants, Inca Terns, Boobies, Humbodlt
Penguins. There is also a high concentration of South America Sea Lions.
Enjoy
the exalting abundance of ocean life. After lunch, We continue our drive
along the coast. We will have the chance to visit the old winery of Ica.
Afternoon visit the center of Maria Reich, renowned anthopologist, famous
for her lifetime of studies of the geometrical figures of Nazca. Over night
hotel in Nazca.
Day
4: Nazca - Arequipa
After having our breakfast,
we go to the airstrip Nazca for a half hour flight over the mysterious
Nasca lines, which are huge figures carved in the ground. According to
theory these were built by three different civilzations about 2000 years
ago. Continuing along the coast of south Peru, we drive along Panamericana
highway to Arequipa. Over night hotel.

5: Arequipa - Colca Canyon
In the morning we visit
some of the facinating colonial buildings made of "sillar" a white volcanic
clay material. Famous in Arequipa, these buildings give this historic
town a unique and picturesque quality. Later we drive to Colca Valley,
passing through Pampa Canahuas at the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, a
protected habitat for vicuñas ( llama relatives with finer wool,
historically reserved only for Incan royalty.) The valley has beautiful
pre-Colombian terraces still farmed by native Collaguas. We spend the night
confortable Lodge.

6: Colca Canyon - Puno
Early morning (7am) departure
for the "Condor's Cross" observation point, from where the great. Andean
bird may be spotted. Enjoy an impressive panorama of the Colca Canyon,
the deepest land canyon in the world. After lunch we continue our
trip to Puno through Chivay, passing the spectacular panorama. Over night
hotel in Puno.
Day
8: Puno - Uros - Taquile Islands
To day we have a motor-boat
two hour ride on Lake Titicaca to the unique floating Islands of the Uros.
The Uros people have relied for hundreds of years on the totora reed (cattail)
to build their villages, homes and boats. They also use it in their highly
developed weaving techniques, They speak Quechua and Aymara. Afternoon
visit to the "Chullpas" of illustani, where the ancient Aymaras used to
bury their high priests in cylinder-shaped tombs.Over night confortable
hotel.

9: Puno - Cusco
After a good night and a
good breadfast, we start our ride across the highland road. Before we get
to our destination Cusco City, we will pass a small village were they grow
llamas and vicunas. Later we will head to the highest point San Pedro (4200m)
then there is on unforgettable train journey to Cusco along the dramatic
landscapes of the Andean highlands, spotted only by little villages and
herds of llamas and alpacas. Evening arrival in Cusco.

10: Cusco city tour
after lunch and staying
in a comfortable hotel, we take you for a City tour, visit the colonial
Cathedral, Santo Domingo, colonial constructions, the nearby Inca's
bath, Tambomachay the mysterious semi-circular Kenko, see the ancient Sacsayhuaman.
This amazing fortress of precisely fitted giant stone was constructed
by the Incas using some blocks which weigh more that 350 tons - The
guide tells you about the mysterious Incas, their organizations, temples
and palaces. At night we have a typical dinner at a local restaurant
enjoying a folkloric music show while we eat.

11: Sacred Valley
n the morning we begin our
drive along the curvy roads to the valley, around 40 min to arrive Pisac
and old mountain village whose buildings reflect the brilliant precision
of the Incas stonemasonry, time in the town center to browse the
many colorful stalls, where vendors sell handicrafts ranging from fine
alpaca sweaters and blankets, to ornamental dishes- continued through valley
we arrive Ollantaytambo very picturesque with its old, narrow stone streets
lined with sunken aqueduct which carry pure mountain water all year along,
in the afternoon return to cusco by the village of chincheros – emphasize
it colonial church in additional to it’s artesian textiles, later we go
to Cusco for a hot shower and dinner.

12 & 13: Machu Picchu
Early this morning board
our train for the scenic three hours zigzagging journey into the lush Urubamba
valley. ( 3hrs) to get the a little village Puente Ruinas where we will
spend the night in a conformable hotel. After we get stable, we are going
out to explore this mysterious cloud forest. Early morning we will take
the bus for the ascent to the sacred refuge of Machu picchu “the lost City
of the Incas” listen as your guide recounts the many accomplishments of
the Incas as your tour the ruins of towers, temples, and ceremonial baths.
After lunch you will have to time to enjoy the inca citadel for your self
and in the afternoon we have to take the train for to return back to Cusco.
Day
14: Cusco - Cloud forest
Leaving Cusco city, we head
over the Andes Mountains into the cloud forest. As we travel the
mountain passes we enjoy sceens of the decendent's of the Incas, the Quechua
people, farming and living much the same way that they did during Incan
times. We visit the pre-Incan tombs of Ninamarca perched in the top
of the rocky hills. We stop for a coffee or coca tea at the
beautiful colonial village of Paucartambo. Continuing our bus
travel we claim a high point of almost 4000 meters before descending to
the cloud forest. Here we travel through waterfalls and tunnels enjoying
the incredible sights and variations of flora and fauna. In this
mysterious surrounding we take a short hike before we make our first camp
at 1,500 m.
Day
15: Cloud forest - Boca Manu
A day break we take a quick
walk to the Salt-Lick of the incredible birds, Cock-of-the Rock. Here we
see the performance of the males as they "dance,"displaying the vibrant
vermilion crests, as they show off and posture for the females. Afterwards
we identify many species of ferns, lichens and bromeliads. Bird watcher's
are in heaven as this area is famous for it's wide variety of species of
birds.
We continue by bus
to the tropical lowland rainforest. Here at 650 m. we change to motorized
canoe to navegate down the turbulent Alto Madre de Dios river to the confluence
of Manu River. We enjoy dinner at our camp sight enjoying the stars
as we listen to the night sounds of the Amazon rainforest.
Day
16: Boca Manu - Cocha Salvador
In the morning, we turn
up the Manu river. From this vantage point, we will have great views of
the riverside, The protected park is so pristine, that the animals relax
in the sun in full view of our boat. You will want to have your binoculars
ready. Here we see many different species of birds, including parrots
and the giant Macaws flying in pairs above us. Sunbathing on the
beach are caimans, turtles and ducks. We may see an elusive jaguar or
the enormous “guinea pig,” capybara. Later we reach our
campsite deep inside Manu park. This will be our camp for the next
two days, during this time, we will hike through virgin forest and
explore one of the most beautiful Oxbow lakes of Manu by catamaran.
We relish in this beautiful environment generally enjoying the show of
monkeys jumping in the side of the lake, not knowing which animal species
we may see, Tapir, Sloth, and with luck a family of Giant Otters.
All meals enjoyed at camp.

17: Cocha Salvador - Cocha Otorongo
We rise early in the morning
surrounding by the noise of Birds and mammals, later after breakfast we
go for a five hours hiking through the forest take us to the lake Otorongo,
where we have another chance to see a group of giant otters and many other
species. All meals at camp.
Day
18: Cocha Salvador - Blanquillo
After a final walk through
the forest surrounding by the lake salvador, we returnby boat back down
the manu river. We enjoining the fast water of Madre de Dios river, swimming
or walking on the beaches, by the afternoon we arrive tambo Blanquillo,,
where we spend the night.
Day
19: Blanquillo - Boca Manu
A first light of the day,
we head to the Macaw Lick to watch a dazzling spectacle of hundreds of
Parakeets, Parrots, and Macaws eating the clay. It is one of the most beautiful
shows in the World. In the afternoon we turn back up to Madre de Dios river,
we camp close to the airstrip.
Day
20: Boca Manu - Cusco
A short boat ride takes
us to Boca Manu airport and our return flight over the rainforest and the
Andes to Cusco by light aircraft. The rest of the day we have free time
to adjust to the altitude, you just can relax, go shopping, explore
the market or visit arquiological sights of the city.
Day
21: Cusco - Lima
After having been in the
Andes and Rainforest, we leave the City of Cusco to take flight to the
capital Lima, if you International flight is in short time we helt you
for to take you flight, if you flight is later we transfer to hotel and
you can take rest or you visit the the Gold Moseum and have lunch ceviche
in one save area of Lima. |
