About Jorge Moscoso

Rainforest Peru tours LLC. is the brain-child of Jorge Moscoso, a Peruvian native who now resides in the USA. Jorge lived and worked in Cusco and the Madre de Dios region of the rainforest for most of his life. His work as an ecologist and Guide for eco tours as well as his respect and understanding of native cultures has led him to develop this company which strives to preserve the rainforest and native cultures of Peru through education and sharing the magic and beauty of the Peruvian culture with the Western world. His life in the USA has made him aware of the expectations and standards of quality, sanitation and timeliness expected in the Western world, while emphasizing the differences and unique qualities of Peruvian culture. This combination has enabled him to create the best Peruvian tour offered today. Our only destination is Peru.

About Darwin Moscoso

Born in the Madre de Dios Rainforest of Peru, he later had the opportunity to pursue his interests in eco-tourism by studying and earning his degree at the University of Cusco. He has put this knowledge to use, guiding people for more 18 years through the world famous Manu National Park – sharing what he has learned about the flora and fauna of the rainforest. On many occasions he has been sought after to participate in various documentaries: Trail of life with the BBC, The National Parks of the World with National Geographic, Searching for El Dorado, with the History Channel and many more.  Darwin is also a studied expert on rainforest survival and with this knowledge lends his expertise in guiding groups of biologists and students from around the world, who come seeking to explore and investigate the wonders of the rainforest.

One of Darwin’s personal passions is that of exploration of ancient civilizations.  For many years he has been seeking the “lost Inca City” EL PAITITI.  In this quest, he has organized various expeditions in the rainforest, some lasting for longer than 120 consecutive days.  Because of his vast knowledge and his mastery of the local tribal languages, he is one of the few explorers to encounter and meet members of the hidden  tribe “Capacapories,” who inhabit the most remote areas and are know to be the most fearful and shy people of the rainforest.

To this day, Darwin continues living in the rainforest of Peru, with his main focus being the sharing of the wonders of the rainforest with visitors and insuring an unforgettable experience, for all who come seeking adventure.
